Frequently Asked Questions

When we say we build our cornhole sets to regulation standards, it means they are built to the specifications set by the American Cornhole Association. See below (Important items are bold):

Section A. Equipment Standards – The ACA has adopted the following equipment specifications and standards for cornhole / corn toss:

1. Each cornhole platform shall be a 48″ x 24″ rectangle made of half inch plywood. ACA sanctioned tournaments should only be played with wooden cornhole platforms as there is significant variance in play between wooden and plastic or other surfaces.

2. The hole in the cornhole platform shall be six inches in diameter and be nine inches from the top and twelve inches from each side (centered) of the cornhole platform edges.

3. The front of the cornhole platform shall be approximately four inches off the ground and be at a near 90-degree angle to the ground.

4. The back of the cornhole platform shall be approximately twelve inches off the ground and be at near a 90-degree angle to the ground.

5. The cornhole platform should have solid wood sides with the only opening to the underside of the cornhole platform being through the hole in the cornhole platform. Although portable fold-down platforms are acceptable (with open sides), platforms with solid wooden sides are preferred for ACA sanctioned tournament play as it is sometimes difficult (especially late in the day) to determine if a corn bag was pitched into the hole or came to rest under the cornhole platform by being pitched through the open sides in a cornhole platform.

6. The cornhole / corn toss play surface shall be finish sanded to a very smooth texture and there shall not be any blemishes in the wood surface that might disrupt or distort play.

7. The cornhole / corn toss play surface shall be painted with a high gloss latex paint resulting in a surface that allows the corn bags to slide but is not so slippery that it allows the bags to slide back down the platform. The preferable color is white, but any easy to see color is acceptable for tournament play.

8. The corn bags shall be made from two fabric squares with a quarter inch double stitched seam on all four sides. The corn bags should be made from 12 oz / sq yd duck canvas and may be any color that is easy to see during cornhole play. Each bag shall be filled with approximately 2 cups of corn feed and finished bags should be a minimum of 6″ x 6″ square and weigh between 14 and 16 ounces.

We ship our full cornhole sets via UPS. Depending on your distance from Chicago, shipping times will vary. A general rule for estimating is to assume two states per day. For example, if we are shipping to your home in Pennsylvania (four states away from Chicago, Illinois), you can expect shipping to take about eight days. Nonetheless, a tracking number will always be provided so you can monitor your cornhole set’s shipping progress. Also keep in mind, that during busy holidays, shipping can take longer than usual – in some cases, even longer than UPS says it will. We have shipped a cornhole set to New York that arrived sooner than a set shipped to Iowa even though they were shipped out the same day.

When you purchase only a set of bags, it is shipped in a flat rate box via USPS Priority Mail. Shipping anywhere in the 48 states is $13. Two sets of Regulation Cornhole Bags can be crammed into one flat rate box. Contact us for larger orders.

Another thing to keep in mind is that shipping may be quicker and even cheaper if you have it shipped to your workplace.

We’ve been doing this for about 5 years now. Having produced nearly 1000 sets thus far, we can confidently say that we have found our niche on the high end of the quality spectrum when it comes to producing custom cornhole sets.

Of course we can. Custom cornhole sets are what we specialize in and custom means we will build what you want.

Our artwork is done by hand. We basically mimic the process of silk screening, but with masking tape and an exacto knife. The custom designs, names and/or logos are applied one layer of color at a time. This difficult process not only shows the pride we have in our product, but also assures you that your cornhole set is 100% genuine. No two sets will ever look exactly the same.

99% of the time we do not use decals – but that 1% of the time exists because we have no choice as our logo application method does in fact have some limitations.

See “Our Logos vs Decals” for more information.

Sometimes the same day, sometimes within a week, and sometimes over a month. We try to keep a stock of Basic Cornhole Boards on hand, but during high volume points of the season, this stock depletes to nothing. When this happens, our turnaround times are drastically increased. Keep this in mind if you are planning to have one of our cornhole sets for your huge July 4th or Labor day barbeque. A good thing is worth waiting for.

Absolutely. We have dealt with several different cornhole bag suppliers over our first year in business. No one would stand behind their product for as long as we wanted them to. “If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself.” We use a commercial grade sewing machine and industrial nylon thread. We are the only company to provide a lifetime warranty on the seams of our cornhole bags.

Check out “Our Sewing Machine” to see our industrial grade Juki.

Aren’t 2×4’s stronger?

We do in fact use 1×4’s. And yes, 2×4’s are stronger, but they also hold up houses. We don’t feel their strength is necessary for framing a 10-lb piece of plywood (not to mention nearly double the weight of the cornhole boards). Contrary to popular belief, our preference for 1×4’s has nothing to do with cost. They are choice white pine and cost more than the stud grade 2×4’s used by many of my competitors. Though we prefer to construct out sets with 1×4’s, we do custom work and will frame your cornhole boards with whatever you want.

Yes. The ACA specifies a “high gloss” finish for regulation cornhole boards. A cornhole set never leaves our workshop without being clearcoated at least once – unless you have requested otherwise.

They are about 20-lbs per board. The weight of two regulation cornhole boards and eight cornhole bags combined is about 55-lbs.

Yes. Shipping a 2′ by 4′ box overseas can cost quite a bit and we will work with you as much as possible to save you some money. We have shipped nearly a dozen cornhole sets to soldiers in the Middle East, several to customers in Canada, and even to a client in New Zealand.

Or do you order them from a manufacturer?

Yes. See “Tour Our Workshop” to take a quick walk-through of our cornhole workshop.

Our cornhole sets are shipped via UPS. You may use UPS’ website to make your own inquiries on time and cost. You will need the following information: the box is 24″ wide, 48″ long, 8″ tall, 55lbs and is being shipped out of zip code 60641.

Again, orders consisting of only Regulation Cornhole Bags are shipped via flat rate USPS Priority Mail. The set cost is $13 and Priority Mail typically takes 1-3 days anywhere in the US.

As far as needed. If you pay us enough, we’ll drive your cornhole set to Argentina if you’d like. If you want us to deliver a set an hour away, we’d probably ask for $30-$40 for time and fuel. We will always take into consideration the notion that it may be more feasible to ship them via UPS than it may be for us to actually hand-deliver your cornhole set.

Like the logistics page says, we only ask a few bucks for gas. But I guess nowadays, “a few bucks” isn’t a good way to describe gas prices. We are located in the northwest side of Chicago (close to O’Hare), and $20-$30 is more than fair for us to deliver your custom cornhole set within a half-hour of O’Hare Intl. Airport.

The white paint eliminates the notion of fading. White paint comes packaged as white and lacks any tinting agents, as let’s say a blue or red would. White paint comes from the manufacturer packaged and ready to apply. Most other colors start as a base color and tint is added to achieve the desired color. The sun will cause these tints to fade, eventually leaving you with the original base color it started as. For example, a blue color will fade to a light gray, while red shades will fade to a deep pink. Basically, with white paint, this crisis is averted – what color can white fade to?

Another perk to the white paint is visibility. As the sun starts to go down, so does the cornhole boards’ visibility. Anything other than white pretty much can’t even be seen in the night…and we all know barbeques can go long into the evening hours. So, if there is any piece advice we’d ask for you to take, it would be to always paint the background white – trust us.

Navy blue, royal blue, baby/sky blue, forest green, pastel green, yellow, red, maroon, gray, white, natural/cream, black, orange, pink and sometimes a variety of seasonal colors available at fabric store.

Absolutely. Contact us and we will go from there.

We guess it depends on who you are, what your organization does and your reputation. We am always willing to play a role in any organization’s success – even if it is as simple as a custom cornhole set that may make some hard working volunteers smile and maybe even raise a couple bucks to the cause.
